Chemical use
The use of chemicals is carefully regulated to minimise risks to health, the environment and trade, and to ensure the long-term sustainability of our primary industries.
Users of agricultural and veterinary chemical products must be aware of their legal responsibilities under legislation administered by the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries (DPI&F), and use chemicals responsibly and safely. Many industry certification and quality programs require that growers be accredited in the use of agricultural chemicals.
